Conflict Skills Workshop
A 90-minute virtual workshop focusing on the tools and frameworks an individual needs to engage conflict and communicate with peers in more productive ways.
To get a full, robust understanding of a task, we need to bring our differences: differences in thought, expertise, life experience, style, strategy, sensitivity, perspective, identity, and more. When we bring those differences successfully, disagreements arise. To bridge these differences, we need to engage conflict effectively.
This workshop includes two pre-requisite asynchronous courses, My Approach to Conflict and Navigating Conflict in Discussions. These courses will introduce the Thomas Kilmann conflict model and associated assessment, the Thomas Kilmann Inventory (TKI), to describe a range of possible responses to conflict. Upon completing the assessment, participants will receive an 11-page personalized report.
The workshop builds on these courses and provides advice on applying these insights to communication strategies that promote healthy collaboration and resilient interactions. It concludes with participants creating a plan for workshop integration and identifying possible next steps in their professional development process.
